Descending from the summit. Hard to believe that hwy 93 is just on the other side of Hawk Ridge!The Sphinx rises over Pharaoh Creek,I will traverse left to find the trail again.Descending the tricky headwall just above the lower bowl towards the schrund.Fatigue, Beersheba, Nasswald, Golden and Og over Quartz Hill and Citadel Peak.Hiking through a larch forest between Scarab Lake and Mummy Lake.Views over Healy Pass down to the Egypt Lake area at left.Hiking up a steep boulder gully on the lower east slopes of Scarab Peak.The Sunshine Ski resort with Eagle, Howard Douglas, Sundance and Brewster Rock.Ascending the easy south ridge to the summit.Hiking through the Healy Meadows to Healy Pass in Larch Heaven.The Monarch rises impressively to the south. Scarab Peak is around 20-30m higher.The upper bowl doesn't have much glacier left in it.The moderate scramble to break the lower cliff to the scree ledge traverse.Descending the tricky headwall just above the lower bowl towards the schrund.Views over Scarab Lake to Pharaoh Peaks.Healy Pass.Exiting down to Pharaoh Creek past the Egypt Lake shelter.Summit views looking north include Haiduk, Ball, Pharaoh Peaks and Scarab / Egypt Lake.Following my ascent tracks down the south ridge.
