Nearing the Columbia neve. The trick on descent is to straight-line down this headwall to give yourself enough coasting speedNearing the toe of the Saskatchewan Glacier.Looking back along our approach tracks towards the top of the Athabasca Glacier approach just left of center in the distance.Glacial ice near the tongue of the icefield.Ferenc skis towards the northeast ridge / face of Castleguard.Descending the summit ridge.The slopes near the summit are steep. Ferenc comes up the summit block beneath me. We skied right to the summit ridge.Androlumbia and Mount Andromeda.Descending the summit ridge.That pyramidal peak in the far distance is Tsar Mountain.Castleguard Mountain peeks out above the glacier (center left). The large base camp is also visible on the lower right of the glacier toe.Part of Andromeda's southern end to our right as we ski up the glacier.Bryce towers over the surrounding terrain.Ferenc skis down the northeast shoulder of Castleguard towards the Columbia neve. This was the best skiing of the day.The Columbia Icefield at left with Castleguard Meadows at lower right. Andromeda at center distance.Still a ways to go after traversing the steep lower summit slopes.Looking back down the Saskatchewan Glacier. Mount Andromeda and Athabasca on the left. It's got to be the world's longest green ski run!Alexandra at left, Cockscomb at center and Bryce at right.The Saskatchewan Glacier at left and Alexandra River Valley at right.
